The Coulee Region Audubon Society holds monthly meetings and programs from September to June at The Nature Place. Join them to enhance your bird knowledge every month. Different topics and speakers every month! Recommended for ages 14+ with accompanying adult.

Feb 2026 Program: 

Dr. Alysa Remsburg, UW-L Professor and Program Director of Sustainability and Environmental Studies minor, and Beth Piggush, Lecturer in the UW-L Environmental Studies Department and Climate Strategy Leader for GreenR Community Connections, will present.

They have previously worked together on land justice and land-back initiatives. The presentation is entitled “From Ivory Towers to Indigenous Territories: Reimagining Land Justice.”  Dr. Remsburg helped create the Hinukwas Ho-Chunk Native Tree Trail on the UW-L campus. The presentation will include information and photos about the Tree Trail, as well as discussing the concept of land justice and land-back initiatives around the country.
