DESCRIPTION:The Coulee Region Audubon Society holds monthly meetings and pr
 ograms from September to June at The Nature Place. Join them to enhance yo
 ur bird knowledge every month. Different topics and speakers every month! 
 Recommended for ages 14+ with accompanying adult.\n\nFeb 2026 Program: \n
 \nDr. Alysa Remsburg\, UW-L Professor and Program Director of Sustainabili
 ty and Environmental Studies minor\, and Beth Piggush\, Lecturer in the U
 W-L Environmental Studies Department and Climate Strategy Leader for Green
 R Community Connections\, will present.\n\nThey have previously worked tog
 ether on land justice and land-back initiatives. The presentation is entit
 led “From Ivory Towers to Indigenous Territories: Reimagining Land Justi
 ce.”  Dr. Remsburg helped create the Hinukwas Ho-Chunk Native Tree Trai
 l on the UW-L campus. The presentation will include information and photos
  about the Tree Trail\, as well as discussing the concept of land justice 
 and land-back initiatives around the country.
