Come with your family and or friends to The Nature Place and help count in our “backyard”: the La Crosse River Marsh. Join anytime between 9 – noon on Saturday, February 17. No need to sign up, and no experience is needed. We will teach you how to do the count in our “backyard” and in your backyard. Bring binoculars if you have some and if not, we will lend you binoculars and have bird lists and field guides you can borrow to help us count.
The Nature Place partners with the Friends of the La Crosse River Marsh yearly to do this count. The Great Backyard Bird Count ( GBBC ) is a vehicle for monitoring the extent, health, and movement of bird species and populations.
