3:00 – 4:00 pm: Marsh Walk and Talk. Cottonwood and Grand Crossing trails
4:15 pm: Refreshments at The Nature Place
The walk will allow us to see and discuss the recent PAH mitigation, trail, and parking lot construction at the Cottonwood Trail trailhead. What has been done and what is still to come. As we proceed down the Cottonwood Trail, we’ll have a chance to talk about a future Friends of the Marsh project, and we can explore the lives of marsh bugs, mammals, and amphibians during winter. On the Grand Crossing Trail, we’ll highlight the buckthorn removal we have accomplished this year and talk about the upcoming reconstruction of this trail. The walk covers approximately a mile. Meet at The Nature Place. Dress for conditions. Wear appropriate shoes/boots. We’ll warm up in The Nature Place with refreshments when we’re done.
Enviro-Wednesdays is co-hosted by The Nature Place and Friends of the La Crosse River Marsh. These programs are scheduled on the first Wednesday of every month. Everyone is welcome. Children should be accompanied by adults.
