This FREE family-friendly program is part of the Driftless Area BioBlitz series of programs coordinated by The Nature Place. A bioblitz is a community science effort to record species with a designated location and time. Anyone, of any age, and any skill level is invited to help record observations of plants and wildlife in the area yearly.
Meet at the Lower Hixon Forest Main Trailhead which is at the end of Milson Court Street in La Crosse. Our expert will be Dr Todd Osmundson from UW-La Crosse, who studies fungi. He will help you understand more about how fantastic fungi are and how to find fungi. Someone will also be on hand to help you learn how to use the iNaturalist app to record your findings.
