Cara was born and raised in La Crosse, so an appreciation for the Driftless area was instilled early on by hiking the bluffs and biking the trails. From a young age, she’s always been interested in the little details of a landscape—from bugs and slugs to plants and fungi. She holds a B.A. in Plant and Fungal Science with a minor in Spanish from UW-La Crosse.
Cara’s passion for environmental education and conservation is reflected in her three terms of AmeriCorps service right here at The Nature Place. Now, as the Facility Assistant, she channels her passion for the natural world into helping with gardens, grounds, and facilities maintenance.
