DESCRIPTION:Insects at Myrick Park\, 10 AM-noon\n\nThere will be pulse-poun
 ding displays of some of the most glorious insects on Earth\, and presente
 r Barrett Klein\, Entomology Professor at UW-La Crosse\, will discuss exam
 ples of ways in which insects have affected our culture and history\, from
  fashion to food\, music to movies\, and politics to espionage. Weather pe
 rmitting\, Barrett will lead an insect walk\, pointing out insects and sha
 ring tales of their natural history along the way. If you join this FREE p
 rogram\, please bring closed-toed shoes for your safety.\n\nFungi at Lower
  Hixon Forest\, 2:00 - 4:00 PM\n\nFungi play many important roles in the e
 nvironment as decomposers\, pathogens\, and essential partners of other or
 ganisms. Todd Osmundson\, Genetics and Fungal Professor at UW-La Crosse\, 
 will talk about fungal biology\, then we will collect fungi in Lower Hixon
  Forest\, and then discuss our findings. Please also feel free to bring al
 ong mushrooms or other fungi for identification and or discussion. If you
