DESCRIPTION:With Craig Thompson\, an ornithologist retired from the WI Dept
  of Natural Resources\n\nBird watching is one of the most popular pastimes
  in the United States\, with approximately 96 million adult participants.\
 n\nThe benefits of bird watching extend beyond simple enjoyment. Numerous 
 studies have documented the health benefits of exposure to nature\, partic
 ularly birds. Birdsong is an especially effective tonic for personal well-
 being.\n\nThis fun course is designed to introduce bird watching fundament
 als to interested adults. The morning will include a brief lecture on bird
 watching basics\, followed by a two-hour birding hike in the La Crosse Mar
 sh with local bird experts.\n\nRegistration is required. No experience is 
 necessary\, but curiosity and a sense of awe are welcome. Bring binoculars
  if you have them\; a limited number of binoculars will be available.\n\nh
